Greece has failed to reach an accord to secure the next batch of its multi-billion bailout money as discussions with eurozone finance ministers stumbled.

Eurogroup chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem said they still notice a gap between what could be done and what some of us had projected should be done, although both parties are close to striking a deal. He added additional talks will need to take place prior to their next meeting on June 15.

The Brussels gathering sought to determine whether the debt-stricken country had fulfilled the prerequisites to obtain a €7.5 billion ($8.3 billion) loan plus debt relief. To receive the funding, Greece needs to ratify a bunch of economic reforms.

Germany and the IMF are said to have differed over how to alleviate the nation's debt load once its rescue program concludes in 2018.
