Poland's central bank held its key interest rate unchanged at a record low again, amid a lack of inflationary pressures and slowing growth.

The Monetary Policy Council decided to retain the key reference rate at a record low 1.50 percent, the National Bank of Poland said in a statement on Wednesday. The decision was in line with expectations.

Previously, the bank lowered the rate by 50 basis points in March last year.

The lombard rate was maintained at 2.50 percent and the deposit rate at 0.50 percent. The rediscount rate was held at 1.75 percent.

"We think there is a growing chance that monetary policy will be eased in the coming months," Capital Economics economist William Jackson said.

"Notably, the minutes from the last MPC meeting in July suggested that the Council was in a somewhat more dovish mood than we had previously thought."

Capital Economics expects a quarter-basis points cut to 1.25 percent, going forward.
