At 22, he triumphed in his first super tournament, defeating Garry Kasparov in a head-to-head match. In 2000, Anand won the FIDE World Chess Championship. In 2007, he fulfilled the dream of every chess player by claiming the title of the undisputed World Chess Champion.

For six years, Viswanathan Anand dominated the chess world, defeating legendary grandmasters such as Vladimir Kramnik, Veselin Topalov, and Boris Gelfand. In 2017, at the age of 48, Anand clinched the World Rapid Chess Championship, further cementing his legacy as one of the greatest chess players of all time.
