The new feature is called Tip Jar. Besides, users will be able to connect their Twitter accounts with Tip Jar via Bandcamp, Cash App, Patreon, PayPal, or Venmo. Twitter will charge no commission for the feature.

The company assumes that this step is an easy way to support the voices and opinions that create discussion on the social network. In addition, it will enable the company to build more features to grow Twitter’s user base to 315 million daily active users by the end of 2023.

The Tip Jar feature is currently available for those who use Twitter in English on iOS and Android. Other languages will be added over time. Currently, only certain groups of users such as creators, journalists, experts, and nonprofits сan use this function. They can add Tip Jar to their profiles to begin collecting tips sooner than others. However, developers promise that everyone will be able to do this in the near future.
