The Baltic Exchange's dry bulk sea freight index, an indicator that monitors rates for shipping dry commodities, fell for the fourth consecutive session on Wednesday. It dropped by 154 points, reaching a low of 1,980 points, the lowest since September 5, due to ongoing weak demand across vessel categories. The capesize index, representing ships that typically carry 150,000-ton loads such as iron ore and coal, decreased by 415 points to a near one-month low of 2,890 points. Meanwhile, the panamax index, associated with vessels that usually transport between 60,000-70,000 tons of coal or grain, fell by 51 points to 1,725 points, its lowest since September 3. Additionally, the supramax index for smaller vessels dropped by 6 points to 1,467 points.
