The Baltic Exchange's dry bulk sea freight index, an indicator for tracking shipping rates for vessels transporting dry bulk commodities, experienced a rise of 31 points, ending at 1,932 on Monday after a six-day downward trend. The capesize index, which generally handles large cargoes around 150,000 tons, including iron ore and coal, increased by 104 points to reach 2,828. Conversely, the panamax index, which typically carries between 60,000 and 70,000 tons of commodities like coal or grain, decreased by eight points, settling at 1,654—marking its lowest point since August 19. Additionally, the supramax index saw its seventh consecutive decline, dropping by four points to 1,443.
