Tunisia’s annual inflation rate rose to 5.0% in February 2026, up from 4.8% in January. The pickup was largely driven by faster price increases in food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.7% vs. 5.9%), housing and utilities (3.9% vs. 3.5%), and restaurants and hotels (5.6% vs. 5.5%).

By contrast, inflation eased in several categories, including transport (2.1% vs. 2.6%), clothing and footwear (8.9% vs. 10.0%), furnishings and household equipment (4.7% vs. 4.9%), health (2.9% vs. 3.0%), education (5.4% vs. 5.5%), and recreation and culture (4.4% vs. 4.5%). Prices also continued to edge higher for communication (0.6%) and for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.3%).
