Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator fell sharply in April 2026, dropping by 10 percentage points from the previous month to -32, after standing at -22 in both February and March. This was the weakest reading since October 2023 and reflected a notable deterioration in household sentiment.

Households became markedly more pessimistic about the general economic outlook for the next 12 months, with the corresponding indicator sliding to -47 from -27. Views on personal finances over the coming year also worsened, with the indicator declining to -27 from -13 in March, while sentiment regarding future savings weakened to -25 from -12.

Expectations for major purchases over the next year deteriorated further (to -34 from -32), and concerns about the unemployment rate increased, with that indicator rising to 26 from 24. At the same time, perceptions of price developments over the past 12 months remained unchanged at 68, but inflation expectations for the year ahead strengthened, climbing to 71 from 63.
