Montenegro's annual inflation rate was unchanged at 3.6% in June 2026, the same as in May, after easing from a three-month high of 3.8% in April. The main upward pressures came from food prices, which inched up to 2.1% from 2.0% in the previous month, and transport costs, which accelerated to 12.8% from 10.7%.

Additional increases were recorded in clothing and footwear (5.6% vs 5.3%), restaurants and hotels (4.4% vs 2.2%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.6% vs 5.3%), furnishings (3.5% vs 2.6%), health (3.5% vs 0.2%), and recreation and culture (1.8% vs 1.3%).

By contrast, inflation in housing and utilities eased to 2.8% from 3.0%, while information and communication costs slowed slightly to 0.7% from 0.8%. Insurance inflation remained stable at 2.7%.

The harmonised annual inflation rate picked up to 3.6% from 3.4%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.4%, matching the pace recorded in the previous month.
