2026.07.2704:36:07UTC+00Sensex Recovers on Lower Oil Prices

India’s BSE Sensex opened about 0.8% higher at 76,668 on Monday, snapping a five-session losing streak. The rebound was supported by a sharp drop in global crude oil prices, which lifted risk appetite after the US and Iran halted strikes over the weekend.

Still, overall sentiment remained cautious ahead of this week’s US Federal Reserve policy meeting, where the central bank is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged. Investors are closely monitoring the accompanying guidance for clues on the future policy path.

On the corporate front, Tata Consumer Products advanced after reporting quarterly earnings that beat expectations, while SBI Card gained on the back of improved asset quality and robust results. Lodha Developers also rose following an increase in quarterly profit. In contrast, Bank of Baroda came under pressure after posting a decline in quarterly earnings.

Among notable movers, Caliber Mining and Logistics climbed 8.9%, Ratnaveer 8.1%, Dr. Lal PathLabs 6.6%, IDFC First Bank 6.2%, Infosys 3.1%, and Laurus 2.9%.
