2026.09.0705:00:00UTC+00Estonia’s Inflation Cools to 1.5% YoY in August, Easing from July’s 2.2%

Estonia’s consumer price growth eased noticeably in August 2026, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising 1.50% year-over-year, down from 2.20% in July 2026. The latest data, updated on 7 September 2026, indicate a continued moderation in inflationary pressures in the Baltic economy.

Both readings are based on year-over-year comparisons, measuring price changes against the same month a year earlier. The August slowdown suggests that price growth is losing momentum compared with midsummer levels, potentially offering some relief to households and policymakers after a period of higher inflation in previous years.

The deceleration from July to August may also feed into expectations for a more stable price environment in Estonia going into the autumn, although further monthly data will be needed to confirm whether this softer inflation trend is sustained.
