Switzerland’s Producer Price Index (PPI) growth eased in September 2026, signaling a moderation in upstream price pressures. The PPI rose 0.3% month-over-month in September, down from a 0.7% increase recorded in August 2026, according to data updated on 15 October 2026.

On a month-over-month basis, the latest figure shows that producer prices are still rising, but at a slower pace than in the previous period. The August reading of 0.7% reflected a stronger acceleration in prices compared with July, while the September data suggests that some of that momentum has cooled.

For markets and policymakers, the softer September PPI may be viewed as a sign that cost pressures at the producer level are stabilizing. As PPI often feeds through to consumer prices with a lag, the slowdown in producer price growth could ease concerns over future inflation if the trend continues in the coming months.
