The company bought 49% of Ximi Pro shares, a developer of the apps for the protection of container infrastructure. Experts note that the deal will allow Kaspersky Lab to offer its own innovative solutions for protecting container infrastructures. The start of commercial sales is planned for the third quarter of 2023. In the IT industry, containers represent an isolated environment for running apps. They house all necessary components which are essential for efficient operation, e.g. software libraries, files, and metadata. Experts say that the global market for commercial container software is expanding rapidly. According to Gartner forecasts, this market segment may grow to $944 million by 2024. In addition, such solutions help streamline enterprise IT infrastructures.

Meanwhile, the container infrastructure can become subject to hacker attacks. Kaspersky Lab’s products will allow the companies to increase security, detect, and respond to threats in the container’s infrastructure. This year, Kaspersky Lab acquired 49% of Ximi Pro, a subsidiary of Ximi Lab. The firm develops Tron software for the protection of container infrastructures. Analysts claim that the deal will help Kaspersky Lab enter the global market for commercial container software. Notably, the new software will pilot in the second quarter of 2023, with the start of sales in the third quarter of 2023. The innovative product will monitor the activity in container infrastructure, detect suspicious behavior, and protect it from intruders.
