Gerard Depardieu, Russia's new celebrity citizen has been gradually adopting the Russian lifestyle. So, he is going to launch production of branded “bio vodka”. Depardieu announced his plans during a visit to Saratov in the Volga region, explaining that his vodka would be made of ecologically pure raw materials and water from mountain springs. “This will be my first experience with manufacturing spirits, and I hope it will be successful. Nevertheless, I would like to see that more people give their preferences to wine,” Gerard Depardieu spoke in the interview. However, he did not disclose where the distillery would be situated and what company was picked to bottle the beverage. Interestingly, the prominent actor has been also a successful entrepreneur for long. Like in his acting carrier, he has tried his hand at various businesses. For example, he owns Cyran R, the Belgian air company; its fleet consists of only 1 aircraft. In Paris, monsieur Depardieu runs several restaurants such as La Fontaine Gaillon, L'Ecaille de la Fontaine as well as wine bar Le Bien Decide. Besides, the actor owns vineyards and real estate agency Cogimmo. Depardieu was awarded Russian citizenship in January 2013 personally from Vladimir Putin. Thus, the actor set about developing business in Russia. Last month, the actor disclosed that he would found a chain of restaurants in Moscow and St Petersburg. The first one, named Gerard, is scheduled to open in Moscow in October this year. In March, few days after the Crimean peninsula rejoined Russia, Depardieu launched a brand of luxury watches under the slogan "Proud to be Russian". Importantly, the celebrity has been running his business in Russia under the Russian legislation. Being registered as a resident of Saransk, Gerard Depardieu obtained a license of an individual entrepreneur in May 2013.
