In December 2025, motorbike sales in Indonesia surged by 14.5% compared to the same month the previous year, reaching a total of 461,925 units. This significant increase follows a modest 2.1% rise in November, with the boost being partly attributed to government initiatives aimed at stimulating domestic consumption. This trend of growth marks the fifth consecutive month where annual sales have risen, supported by a cumulative 150 basis point reduction in interest rates implemented by the central bank since September 2024.

For the entire year of 2025, motorbike sales experienced a marginal increase of 1.3% from the previous year, totaling 6.4 million units. This figure aligns with the projections set by the Association of Indonesian Motorcycle Industry (AISI), which anticipated sales between 6.4 and 6.7 million units. In contrast, 2024 saw a 1.5% rise in annual sales to 6.3 million units, fitting within AISI's forecast range of 6.2 to 6.5 million units. Despite the annual growth, there was an 11.7% decline in sales for December on a month-to-month basis, reflecting a continuation of an 11.3% decrease seen in November.
