2026.02.1007:20:07UTC+00Denmark Inflation Hits 21-Month Low

Denmark’s annual inflation rate slowed to 0.8% in January 2026 from 1.9% in December, reaching its lowest level since April 2024. The deceleration was mainly driven by lower prices for housing and utilities (-1.3% vs 1.2% in December) and transportation (-0.2% vs 1.3%). Price growth also eased in restaurants and hotels (1.4% vs 3.3%), information and communication (3.5% vs 4.0%), and miscellaneous goods and services (2.4% vs 3.3%). In contrast, inflation picked up slightly for food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.8% vs 3.6%) and for recreation and culture (1.9% vs 1.8%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.6%, following a 0.4% decline in the previous month. Core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, eased to 1.9% in January—its lowest level in seven months—down from 2.3% recorded in each of the prior three months.
