Chile’s industrial production fell 1.6% year-on-year in January 2026, following a revised 1.8% decline in December. This marked the fourth consecutive monthly contraction in industrial activity, largely driven by a 3.8% drop in manufacturing output, the steepest decrease since June 2024. Mining production also edged down 0.1%, weighed by a 3% fall in copper output. In contrast, utilities production increased by 1.2%.
