Denmark’s manufacturing output fell by 1.1% month-on-month in April 2026, reversing part of the strong, downwardly revised 8.3% increase recorded in March. Production declined across several key industries, including food, beverages, and tobacco (-2.7% vs 5.5% in March), wood and paper products (-2.1% vs 2.1%), pharmaceutical products (-2.5% vs 15%), electronics (-15.8% vs 37%), rubber, plastic, glass, and concrete products (-1% vs 15.5%), and transportation equipment (-2.2% vs 19.5%). At the same time, growth slowed in textile, clothing, and leather goods, with output rising 2.4% after a 9.5% increase in March. In contrast, production grew in metal and metal products (5% vs 0.4%), while petroleum and chemical products returned to expansion, rising 1.3% after a 0.9% decline. On a seasonally adjusted annual basis, manufacturing activity rose 13% in April, easing from a revised 21.1% increase in the previous period.
