2026.07.0910:22:17UTC+00Ireland Harmonised Inflation Rate Eases in June

Ireland’s EU-harmonised inflation rate (HICP) rose by 3.2% year-on-year in June 2026, down from 3.5% in May and slightly below the preliminary estimate of 3.3%. The deceleration was largely driven by a moderation in energy price inflation, which eased to 10.0% from 11.9% in the previous month. Food prices increased by 0.5%, a slowdown from a downwardly revised 1.3% rise in May. Meanwhile, inflation in services and goods also eased, with services inflation slipping to 3.6% from 3.7% and goods inflation falling to 2.8% from 3.3%. Excluding energy and unprocessed food, the harmonised inflation rate held steady at 2.5%, unchanged from the prior period. On a monthly basis, the HICP increased by 0.3% in June, rebounding from a 0.2% decline in May and in line with the flash estimate.
