Industrial output in Greece rose by 3.9% year-on-year in May 2026, accelerating from a 2.1% increase in April and marking the ninth consecutive month of expansion. The upturn was supported by solid growth in electricity supply (7.1%, after 9.8% in April) and a notable strengthening in manufacturing output (3.7%, after 1.0%).

Within manufacturing, the strongest increases were observed in other transport equipment (69.2%), motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (33.1%), coke and refined petroleum products (32.1%), computers, electronic and optical products (31.0%), and tobacco products (11.7%).

In contrast, output declined in mining and quarrying (-10.9%, compared with -2.8% in April) and in water supply (-2.1%, compared with a 0.1% increase previously).

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production increased by 1.9% in May, rebounding from a downwardly revised 3.2% contraction in April. For the first five months of the year, industrial output was up 3.9% compared with the same period a year earlier.
