2026.07.1313:18:54UTC+00United Arab Emirates Oil Output Highest since 2020

The United Arab Emirates boosted crude oil production by 1.707 million barrels per day in June 2026, reaching 3.818 million barrels per day — its highest level since April 2020, according to OPEC’s monthly report. The increase came after the UAE formally left OPEC at the end of April and reflects its push to restore exports following an interim U.S.–Iran peace agreement that temporarily allowed more shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.

To capitalize on this opening, the UAE has stepped up use of its own tanker fleet and chartered additional vessels, including ships operated by South Korea’s Sinokor Group. Some cargoes have reportedly been moved with transponders switched off or with limited tracking signals.

Regional output has also risen elsewhere: Kuwait’s production increased to 1.394 million barrels per day, while Iraq’s reached 2.09 million barrels per day. By contrast, Saudi Arabia cut its output by 373,000 barrels per day, to 6.637 million barrels per day.

The recent rebound in regional supply has since been overshadowed by renewed clashes around the Strait of Hormuz, pushing oil prices higher and reigniting concerns over potential disruptions to global energy flows.
