U.S. durable goods orders stabilized in June 2026, rising 0.3% month-over-month after a steep decline in the previous month. The latest data, updated on 27 July 2026, mark a notable turnaround from May, when orders fell by 4.5% compared with April.

The month-over-month comparison shows that while demand for long-lasting manufactured goods remains fragile, it has stopped contracting at the pace seen earlier in the spring. The modest 0.3% gain in June suggests a tentative recovery in new orders, offering a cautiously positive signal for the manufacturing sector after May’s sharp setback.

These figures are based on the standard month-over-month framework, in which the “actual” June change is measured against May 2026, and the “previous” May reading reflects the change versus April 2026.
