Austria’s industrial production was unchanged in June 2026 compared with the same month a year earlier, matching the flat result recorded in May. Within this, the industrial sector remained in decline, with output contracting by 1.5% (after a 0.7% drop in May), while construction activity expanded more strongly, rising 5.6% after 3.1% previously.

Among the main industrial groupings, production of non-durable consumer goods fell more sharply, down 7.0% compared with a 3.0% decline in May. Growth in intermediate goods output lost momentum, easing to 0.5% from 1.3%. Energy production continued to shrink but at a slower rate, decreasing 4.6% after a 7.8% fall. In contrast, capital goods output edged slightly higher, rising 0.1% following a 0.7% decline, and production of durable consumer goods accelerated markedly, surging 12.4% after a 9.6% increase.

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, overall industrial production rose 0.5% in June, rebounding from a 0.3% decline in the previous month.
