Cyprus’ trade deficit widened to EUR 826.3 million in June 2026, from EUR 638.1 million in the same month a year earlier, according to preliminary estimates. Imports increased by 11.9% year-on-year to EUR 1,289.3 million, driven by higher inflows from both EU countries (up 18.8%) and non-EU countries (up 4.0%). These figures include the transfer of economic ownership of vessels worth EUR 117.8 million, compared with EUR 55.8 million in June 2025.

Over the January–June period, the trade deficit widened to EUR 4,679.1 million, from EUR 4,055.1 million in the corresponding period of the previous year.
