The Netherlands saw a sharp turnaround in consumer prices in July 2026, with the Dutch Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising 1.60% month-on-month, after a 0.60% decline in June. The latest data, updated on 11 August 2026, indicate that price pressures have returned following a brief period of negative month-on-month inflation.

In June 2026, the CPI fell by 0.60% compared with May, signaling a temporary easing in price levels. However, the July figure shows a clear reversal, as prices increased compared with the previous month. On a month-over-month basis, the current 1.60% reading is measured against June, while the previous -0.60% reading reflected the change from May to June.

The strong swing from negative to positive territory suggests that the weakness in June was short-lived, with July marking a renewed uptick in consumer prices across the Dutch economy. Investors and policymakers will now be watching subsequent releases closely to see whether this rebound develops into a more sustained inflationary trend.
