2026.08.1306:24:14UTC+00Swedish Inflation Confirmed at 0.2% in July

Consumer prices in Sweden increased by 0.2% year-on-year in July 2026, in line with preliminary estimates and down from a 0.7% rise in June. This was the smallest annual increase since May of the previous year, largely reflecting lower prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-7.2% vs. -6.8% in June), health (-6.4% vs. -4.7%), and education services (-15.3% vs. 3.4%). Inflation also eased for housing and utilities (2.3% vs. 4.0%) and transport (0.4% vs. 3.5%).

By contrast, prices rebounded for clothing and footwear (0.4% vs. -2.3%) and for information and communication services (1.4% vs. -1.0%). Restaurants and accommodation became more expensive, with prices rising at a faster pace (3.5% vs. 2.7%), largely due to seasonal factors.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.3% in July, the first decline in three months and a reversal of the 0.4% increase seen in June. Meanwhile, the consumer price index with a fixed interest rate (CPIF), the Riksbank’s target measure, rose 0.7% year-on-year and fell 0.3% month-on-month in July.
