House prices in Norway increased by 0.8% month-on-month in August 2026, offsetting the 1.0% decline seen in July. Residential sales reached 9,594 units, a 5% decrease compared with the same month a year earlier. At the same time, 13,077 homes were listed for sale, down 5.4% year-on-year.

The average time on the market fell to 50 days from 62 days in July. Properties sold fastest in Bergen, with an average marketing time of 16 days, and slowest in the Fredrikstad/Sarpsborg area, where homes took an average of 90 days to sell.

Regionally, Tønsberg with Færder posted the strongest monthly price growth, with prices rising 2.7%. In contrast, Drammen and its surrounding area recorded the weakest development, with prices declining by 1.2%.

On an annual basis, house prices were up 2.6% in August, accelerating from a two-year low of 2.2% in July. Over the January–August 2026 period, prices were 4.9% higher than in the corresponding period of 2025.
