Latvia’s industrial production slipped 0.2% year-on-year in July 2026, following a 0.5% rise in June and marking the first contraction since March 2025. Growth in mining and quarrying eased (12.4% vs 13.8% in June), while output in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply fell more sharply (-35.6% vs -29.8%).

By contrast, manufacturing output strengthened, rising 8.2% year-on-year (vs 5.0% in June), supported by robust gains in several categories: food products (11.7% vs 5.7%), textiles (131.9% vs 122.0%), rubber and plastic products (13.2% vs 0.5%), fabricated metal products excluding machinery and equipment (33.9% vs 19.0%), and the repair and installation of machinery and equipment (8.2% vs 1.2%).

On a monthly basis, industrial production edged up 0.1% in July, rebounding from a downwardly revised 0.9% decline in the previous month.
