2026.09.3007:00:00UTC+00Czech GDP Growth Slows to 1.8% in Q2 2026 on Annual Basis

The Czech Republic’s economic growth cooled in the second quarter of 2026, with gross domestic product (GDP) rising 1.8% year-over-year, down from a previously recorded 2.2% in the same period a year earlier. The latest data, updated on 30 September 2026, indicate a moderation in the country’s expansion pace when compared to the second quarter of 2025.

According to the year-over-year comparison methodology, the current figure reflects how GDP in the second quarter of 2026 compares with the second quarter of 2025, while the earlier 2.2% reading measured the second quarter of 2025 against the same quarter in 2024. The slowdown from 2.2% to 1.8% suggests that, although the Czech economy continues to grow, the momentum seen in the prior year has softened. Investors and policymakers are likely to watch subsequent quarters closely to determine whether this marks the start of a more prolonged deceleration or a temporary easing in growth dynamics.
