The Global Dairy Trade (GDT) Price Index experienced a decrease of 4.3%, settling at an average of $3,507 per ton for the fortnight ending December 2. This follows a preceding decline of 3.0% and represents the eighth successive reduction, as well as the sharpest drop since early September. The decline is primarily attributed to weaker prices for butter, which fell by 12.4%, and anhydrous milk fat, which decreased by 9.8%. Additional price reductions were noted in whole milk powder (-2.4%), skim milk powder (-1.6%), and mozzarella (-1.0%). Conversely, there were price increases for cheddar, which rose by 7.2%, lactose by 4.2%, and butter milk powder by 1.8%.
