Australian Housing Finance down 2.5 Pct in Feb, Loans for Home Investment Up

  • Australian housing finance was declined by 2.5 pct in February little less than 3.5 pct decline economists had expected
  • The value of home loans for owner occupied home was down by 4.0 pct at A$13.4 bln in SA terms while those for investment purpose rose 4.4 pct to A$6.9 bln
  • The number of commitments to buy new homes fell 10.4 pct while those for established home rose 3.1 pct
