Chinese Yuan Slightly Off 4-day High Against U.S. Dollar

The Chinese yuan that approached a 4-day high of 6.2940 against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday's early Asian deals has moved off slightly soon thereafter. The pair is now trading at 6.3038, compared to Monday's close of 6.3162.

The People's Bank of China set today's central parity rate for the yuan at 6.2896 per dollar, compared to yesterday's daily reference rate of 6.2960. The Chinese central bank sets the central parity rate every morning and will allow the currency to fluctuate up to 1 percent from the level.
