Slovakia Economic Sentiment Rises For Second Month

Economic sentiment in Slovakia improved for the second consecutive month in April, data released by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Monday.

The economic sentiment index increased to 91.7 from March's 91. The latest score is the highest since August 2011, when it was 91.8.

In April, the consumer confidence index climbed to -20.8 from -32.3. The index reflecting sentiment in the construction industry also improved, rising to -36.5 from -47.5.

Meanwhile, the industrial confidence index fell to 2 from 3. The measure of retail trade confidence slid to 9.3 from 10.7. The services confidence index also declined, down to 21 from 29.
